repair Fedi, anyone got any suggestions for troubleshooting this kind of pushbutton? The device is a first-gen Kindle Touch and it has become unresponsive to both of the two wake-up buttons (front and bottom) It still takes a charge and will talk to a computer over USB so I think it's not a software or main board failure.

Both buttons are on the same daughter circuit board (pictured) and I can feel them both go click when pushed. I can't get at where the daughter board connects up without taking the device farther apart.

@zwol I would check to make sure there are no breaks in the traces of the ribon cable if you have a multimeter you can check that in continuity mode if you can get the probe through to the copper layer if not just visual inspection of the traces and follow it around the bends.hopefully the ribon is fine because that can be a pain to fix. If you have some rubbing alcohol or somthing like deoxit it could help to get the button saturated and click it for a bit to try to clean the inside and the connector on he other end if there is one.
