GENERIC BUT CURRENT SECURITY REMINDER: There are a lot of attacks on WhatsApp accounts doing the rounds at the moment, so please take care. Specifically, if you receive the 6-digit SMS code from WhatsApp DO NOT send it on to anyone else. If one of your contacts gets in touch and says “oops, did you get a code just then? My fault, can you send it to me please?” DO NOT send it. Their account has been compromised, and they’re currently trying to break in to your account - and the only way to do this is to intercept that 6-digit code quickly.

This is true for all 2FA codes, for all services ... but WhatsApp is specifically being targeted by crackers at the moment. 2FA codes do NOT get sent "to the wrong person", and it's a relatively new social engineering technique to make people think they might be ...
