@thegibson i dont think i can wrap my head around this omg

TXPOL

@thegibson Honestly though, is this the worst outcome? Seems like Texas, America and social networking wins by routing around Texas as damaged goods.

re: TXPOL

@BalooUriza I mean whatever.... I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing.

TXPOL

@TheGibson Best case: this gets slapped down so hard at the Federal level that it makes the politicians teeth rattle.

Worst case: it makes it to this current Supreme Court, who appear to be having "opposite day" when it comes to the constitution.

@craigmaloney @TheGibson

American conservatives. We have the power, you do what we tell you or we send thugs to rough you up until you do.

TXPOL

@craigmaloney @thegibson I think the use of private lawsuits in this manner has yet to be tested. If this law is tested and upheld, it opens the floodgates to similar laws in other states, at which point the US becomes a loose collection of 50 countries.

TXPOL

@freakazoid @TheGibson We're already a collection of 50 countries, it just happens that the Federal Government was able to curtail them for the past 50 years.

TXPOL

@TheGibson

I mean, wouldn't the path of least resistance just be to adjust the TOS to forbid anyone from Texas from using the service and then enforcing it to the minimum extent that gives them deniability?

(That or just kick all of Texas off Twitbook and see how that goes for the governor.)

TXPOL

@thegibson I bet all those content creators on twitch and YouTube that fled to Texas are sweating bullets.
