re: toxic maleness, lewd, violence, fash
It is all of rural America. Same in KY.
I dislike identity as a political tool because of all this: Rural white Americans, and POC have a very similar deck stacked against them, but they have been stigmatized to never interact unless in a controlled fashion.
The upper middle class has money for now, but they have a different deck stacked against them.
Even the very wealthy have a deck stacked against them by the more wealthy. Money itself is just another chain with which to control.
So if everyone got distracted, even for a while, from survival or greed... from blaming “the other”, and recognized their commonalities... the whole thing may fall apart.
Make sure they are well fed and entertained, for the good of empire.
All that out of the way. Men, especially rural men, are taught to suppress emotion, hunker down and be tough. It sucks.
But I did learn some lessons that ended up being useful. Mental resilience, pain tolerance... they are learned.
But it’s not worth the high cost of mental wellness, and stunted relationships with loved ones... How hard it is to speak as brothers.
The problem was so bad in the past 300 years, that secret organizations were formed for that very reason. To give men an outlet to speak freely and without judgement to other men who experienced the same things... and even that has been under attack the whole time as a secret toxic thing, when in and of itself it is an attempt not to cure the social anxiety felt by these beaten and broken men, but to at least apply a salve to it, perhaps a positivity to helping the community.
Fear, Anger, pain, suffering... it all destroys, obliterates everything it touches.
We as people must learn to let go of that. Learn to love and forgive... or else we will suffer from the same mistakes made for so long.
Hate begets hate.
I stand for love.
Love for my brothers, love for my family, love for everyone who would have it.
I can’t save the world by myself, that’s a toxic thought.
But maybe I can teach someone else to love more than I do. And then, if we’re lucky... things start to get fixed.
A bunch of technomancers in the fediverse. Keep it fairly clean please. This arcology is for all who wash up upon it's digital shore.
