@thegibson i, like, took a phone i'd never used for anything valuable or sensitive to china last week, if that's what you're asking
@bonzoesc Sure... that's one facet.
goo data hygiene.
@thegibson beyond that it's 8-digit passcodes, using the iphone biometrics because lazy, deleting more apps
Although I think I want to know what everyone is doing as far as platforms are concerned as well... just an overview of what we're all doing the same, or different.
@TheGibson I took an older Nexus 6 flashed to LineageOS, dropped gapps on it and @fdroidorg and then filled in the blanks.
I also have a beta build of a lolipop router https://gitlab.com/kemonine/lolipop_lan_cloud/ for auto vpn, dns based ad / malware blocks and nextcloud for private, on the go cloud.
The phone has a sim card but is intended to hit the lolipop for internet needs. And if I can get away with @matrix as my voice/video/chat I'll likely omit the phone sim card in favor of an lte modem on the lolipop.
@TheGibson It's still CopperheadOS.
Why? Because @rootkovska once tweeted something like this:
I would have ordered your phone if I would have been able to pull out all the microphones.
;)
@thegibson Get a laptop and probably a hotspot. That way you can not only chat for (in some ways) free, but you can also download and use encrypted chat apps.
Also, please boost... I want feedback.
