@AFresh1 the challenge is I often don't know Perl would have been the better choice until I'm deep in the mud with some other solution.
@randomgeek see, that's why perl's whipupitude is so great, you can try it out in perl and see how well it fits. Then the rewrite can be done in the right language for the job, which might still be perl. :-D
@randomgeek same, after sharing this article at work one of my comments was that I hope someone would take the "you can do anything in perl, but that doesn't mean you should" saying and write up some articles about the things that *should* be done in perl5.
