My PowerBook G4 is from 2005. But still have an up-to-date OS. I updated to 7.1, latest version of my config files as well (same as on my other *BSD and Linux systems).
It doesn't have a modern web browser, but emacs and a script to listen to is all I need πŸ˜‡

I tried @haiku (in a VM). Glad to see that is still inspiring.
ssh, zsh, emacs and neofetch work with my usual configuration files (after finding the right place). I changed some colors too πŸ˜…

It was time to update my laptop stickers page…
Yes, never enough laptops, because more space is needed for more stickers πŸ˜‚

Thanks again to all friends for the stickers πŸ˜‡ @Medus4 @1dark1 @JeremySCook @adafruit @pimoroni @protonmail …

And more πŸ˜‡

My V110 G2 is happy running @EndeavourOS … fully customized using window manager.
The virtual desktops help some to do a lot from not so big / not high resolution screen.
I doubled the RAM (16GB now) and the SSD (2x 500GB), this help some this little rugged i5 πŸ˜‡

Look like I have lot of old PC Cards …

I adopted a new machine : a V110 G2 : i5/8GB RAM/500GB.
Used, but very few (a little more than 300 hours only), was owned by an old man and never had outdoor activity with it.
I already reformatted all and installed Linux @EndeavourOS : look like all is working fine.

On my train back to Paris, hacking/coding in on my (@arturo182).
The runs and my makes coding more comfortable πŸ˜…
The train has WiFi, but prefer to use my smartphone's hotspot when needed.

Fresh install on :
First the Dev Kit on : it’s slow to start (and to shutdown), so much memory wasted : 1.18GB 😱
Saving some memory by changing to window manager : 703MB. πŸ˜…
Then : it’s fast, 302MB + recent kernel & packages ❀️

Using my iPad Pro as a second screen for my small with the help of (a Duet open source alternative that work also on Linux).
Thanks you πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ for πŸ˜‡

Now I have my connected to a Core X Chroma eGPU ( RTX 3060Ti) I can do better πŸ˜…
My first submission for Photo Mode Challenge!

Happy Ending : I spend some time with support, after some verification they asked me to sabotage the Device so they can send me a new one (I had to cut some cables and serial stickers).
I received the replacement device this morning, was sent from China, seem to be a all new device βœ¨πŸ‘.
So I will keep the old one for parts if need it in future, or try to repair it (but it will not look the same as we have to remove the grips and some glued parts to get access to internals).
I hope companies will work to have easier to repair devices in future. Save the planet !

It's time to shave and get my hair cut before I look like Johnny Mnemonic's preacher.

My GamePad (wolverine v2) β€˜A’ button didn’t survived to 5 month of moderate playing. Done some research, seem to be a nightmare to dismount and no spare parts sold on their web site … but I may try if contact with their support fail.
So I switched to a lot cheaper solution : the PowerA Fusion Pro 2, it seem to feel robust and easier to dismount. Of course I switched the rings and add caps to have more green πŸ˜…

I rearranged the front panel of my old desktop PC rack case. I can now easily add 4 hot plug SATA drives (3x2.5” + 1x3.5”).
Still also have USB ports and memory cards slots (switched emplacement for better access).
And testing a fresh @EndeavourOS install (clean and easy Arch πŸ˜‡).

I visited my local electronics store and back with some @adafruit stuff to keep me busy for the upcoming holidays and rainy weekends πŸ˜‡
