Driving around Wisconsin, and I think our video card needs upgrading.

I expect Superman 64 to show up any minute, flailing around wildly in search of the next kryptonite ring to go through.

this is my semi-regular yet aperiodic reminder that this place here is a distributed federated version of Callahan's as far as I can tell and that is one of the most bestest things that can be.

Does anybody know of an online service (pay-for-use - no way I'd consider a free service) that can be used for family finance management? Could be used to tie a whole bunch of different accounts together? Would YNAB be an option here?

RT @aurbelis@twitter.com, re: @HackerRadioShow :

Update --Things are very much unsettled-- The portions of the TRO that are vacated mean that Pacifica is no longer prohibited from seizing property, preventing broadcasting, and interfering with WBAI's affairs.

But questions remain...

twitter.com/aurbelis/status/11

The portion of the TRO that remains means that Pacifica cannot terminate employees, like the General Manager. If the General Manager's duties are to direct programming, how can the GM do that if Pacifica controls the property and the transmitter?

The decision seems legally backward: TROs prevent irreparable injuries. Irreparable injuries are harms that money cannot compensate. employees are paid with money. Therefore, if employees could be made whole with money, they are not irreparably harmed if fired in error.

On the other hand, forcing off the air, eradicating local programming, seizing critical station property, disrupting fundraising, and the listener confusion that results from Pacifica using WBAI as repeater -- that is all irreparable harm!

There is another court conference about Pacifica's contempt happening right now, but that seems mostly moot because 's TRO was mostly vacated.

However, the hearing on the underlying Petition remains: that by shuttering , Pacifica violated its bylaws and violated rights to free expression. Given today's ruling, that date is likely to be sooner than 18 October.

The fight is not over by any means. Stay tuned.

We're still live! Please keep sharing the @HackerRadioShow live stream, and come back to this link later for an archive. youtube.com/watch?v=s4pqeyjqQj

In lieu of our stolen airwaves, we are streaming our live talk from the Brooklyn COmmons Cafe. Load up youtube.com/watch?v=s4pqeyjqQj , where we will go live momentarily.

We're back!! You no longer need to come to Brooklyn to hear our next episode, tune in as normal.

RT @2600@twitter.com: We're happy to announce that WBAI has gotten an injunction to stay the takeover of the station by RadioPacifica. All programming will resume and the next court date is October 18th.

Should be a good show this Wednesday!

@HackerRadioShow

Re: the sudden closure of @HackerRadioShow home WBAI, we have a statement posted at 2600.com/content/lockout-wbai- .

We've arranged a live "Off the Hook" for 7-9 PM this Wednesday the 9th, at the Brooklyn Commons Cafe downstairs from the station. Please spread the word and, if you are in geographic range, PLEASE come join us; a show of numbers is pretty critical.

388 Atlantic Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11217

And please show the cafe some support. They're WBAI's landlord as well, and have also been thrown into peril by the station's closure.

We are working behind the scenes to figure out our next moves, and will talk about it at the event. We're also working on getting it recorded and streamed, we'll keep you posted.

Thanks, everyone. As you can imagine this is pretty daunting, but I'm keeping the faith that this isn't the last you'll hear of @HackerRadioShow.

RT @alovablenerd@twitter.com: Adulthood feels exactly like when you’re going downstairs and you expect there to be another step but then there isn’t.
